This was just today? Damn you work fast. I love the concept of it and that people can compete for score on the same tracks. I wonder if you'll have high scores for both the least lives lost and fastest time (and/or maybe a weighted system combining both). I can already imagine lots of different track piece types as well, including objects on one side or another like obstacles or speed boosts.

Leadwerks Winter Games Tournament 2016
in Ultra Software Company Blog
A group blog by The Ultra Software Team in General
I sent you a PM but maybe better to post here. I suspect the hoodie is meant to be a fifth entry prize (not fourth, like the shirt) and the controller the sixth. But maybe it's intentional to not have people getting two hoodies or controllers if they submitted their fourth or fifth entry last tournament.

Josh is gonna love all the people who complain that they're not getting new features for some reason in a few months...
May 2016 is the latest eh?
-
Ouch. I guess it's a lot of work to keep it backwards compatible?
-
I hope there will be a really nice tutorial for this.

@game when did I say that?
Apologies if I misinterpreted what you meant by putting "le's future into vr."
-
Not to bring up painful memories but mobile seemed tried and tested and that ended up not working out. And that's with everyone already having a phone. This is very much experimental with each customer first needing to dish out hundreds of dollars just on a "gimmick."
I'm not saying it won't be the next big thing. Prices will drop. And if consoles sold on various input/output ideas, this may too. And I do appreciate how amazing the experience must be.
Even as far as LE is concerned with regards to this, I have mixed feelings. I'm sure it's valuable to get in early on something that ends up succeeding. Leadwerks is in a pretty strong spot in general so spending some time on supporting this could end up paying off. Or maybe not.
I guess my point is simply that it's a risk and I know you like to take those sometimes, with good reasons. And unlike Rick, I imagine you're not going to spend most of your time on this in the coming future, to the exclusion of everything else.

Not handy but plenty here
https://www.google.com/search?q=animated+texture&source=lnms&tbm=isch
For my Summer Games entry I was going to create one that makes my guy warp in and warp out, with alpha. And animate the exit portal. (But I get this is a ways away, if it's happening at all.)
(Excuse the placeholder character.)

Nice! Does this mean that we will now be able to easily create multiple viewports in our games, like that famous camera monitor thing that comes up now and again?
Also, to completely push my luck, any chance of implementing animated textures while you're working on this? I think there was talk of this at one point, back in the day. It could make animated buttons and also cooler effects like force fields, shields, etc. I think we can kind of hack this now and I believe the water uses it through a shader but a simple function or two would go a long way.

I am going to focus on just resolving bug reports and adding new documentation for the next two weeks.
Awww. Is this request difficult to add in? (I'm not using beta)

features that are just "magic"
I watched the video first and was gonna comment "what kind of sorcery is this?!" but you kind of beat me to it. I had to watch it in slow motion. Rocks looked like they grew and shrunk from the terrain. Even understanding the basics, I'm not quite sure how that happens but I'm happy to settle for sorcery and magic.

I'm rooting for you Hayden, more so than for myself, on this feature.

Josh, will the 2D platformer template include slope movement?
-
Many people are still buying the standard edition.
I wonder if you've taken into consideration that C++ costs twice as much as Lua. In fact, considering that it's the only feature the DLC adds, you could say it costs a lot more.
-
Oh. That makes sense then.

I like the progression. The current version is pretty clean and functional. Maybe it could receive a more graphical touch down the line. Also, it's not the end of the world but if the left/right buttons are meant to do something with the current game selection, maybe they should be under that selection, like so:
-
This depends greatly on how that first page will be presented. I hope you found something that works.
-
The presentation is clear but the look could use some modernizing/sharpening.

Reminds me of this article about how people make games addictive:

Pretty scary but anyone can do it.
-
That would be great. And please please PLEASE implement multiple planes.

Running with gamedevinancy's idea, you could also put a dynamic description below the dynamic image.
This is far from all-inclusive but you get the idea...

I would highly recommend staying away from the images. I would prefer just a bulleted list of the topic as a hyperlink. It is a much cleaner look and much easier to see what all of the lessons are about.
I have a preference for quickly available links as well (maybe with some icons) and I actually like sub-sections to make browsing quicker but I'd give this a chance to see how it turns out. I can't imagine it would take long to simplify it if the image links become too cluttered.

If you're saying that there will be searchable titles on all images (without needing to mouse over) then that would help.

I love the idea of showing other player info and visuals to the current player. It seems like it wouldn't be hard to incorporate.
