New ideas for the Monthly Script Challenge

I've been running the Monthly Script Challenge for several months now and I have run out of ideas for future challenges.

 

So I'm asking the community for suggestions.

 

We need ideas that can be solved with a single script and that the community needs.

 

I thought of a voxel system (minecraft) but this would be too complex for a monthly challenge.

 

So lets hear your ideas.

So far we've had:

 

Jetpack to fly across maps

Different sounds based on what you're walking on

Weather system with rain, snow & wind

Grenade damaging targets in a radius

Gravity gun, grabbing and throwing objects

 

Some other ideas (not sure if these are already out there or their usefulness):

 

Harvesting trees, rocks, etc. and getting the appropriate resource

Teleporting within a given distance (with a visual indicator of where you'd land before you teleport, like Dishonored)

Upgrading a skill tree using points

Cover system

Climbing system (like in Assassin's Creed, Shadow of Mordor, Batman Arkham series and others)

dynamic music manager ( different envo's diferent music)

interacteable traps for enemies

climbable turrets ( hl2 style :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vS4hP6z9oE , best video I could find but I think we all know about it)

Flying objects ( Drone perhaps, or plane)

Turret

Duke Nukem proximity mine

Chickens that attack enemies

Chicken gun (shoots chickens that attack enemies)

Giant cat boss with laser beams coming out of eyes that spawns enemies

Make a good explosion script / prefab

could i have that grenade script please? lol im trying to make a grenade that explouds and does damage in a radius.. im really not good at scripting..

This is already in Leadwerks. It's called FPSGun.lua in the scripts directory of your project :)

Easy Dev pack, includes textures, small maps and shaders for prototyping a game. 

  1. red green and blue tile textures
  2. map to test out ai, character controller physics and scripts
  3. Simulation levels, with real physics and real scales (normal) for making realistic maps , also with good starter lightning
  4. tester character model which looks like the one from unreal engine , with animations
  5. more ??
