  1. I've being trying to get my car drivable inside of LE today. I have exported the body on its own, then 1 left, and right wheel as seperate meshes too. I have then copied over the driving script for ingame and also the "vehicle viperscout" script and changed the model names to match mine. I am using "vehicle" at the beginning of each mesh name also. When I try to run the driver script to drive around in-editor, I get the error:

attempt to index global 'carobject' (a nil value)

If I drag out my car body model into the scene I get the three following errors:

Failed to open file "C:\users\richard\desktop\ leadwerks engine sdk\scripts\math.lua

    followed by:

    Failed to open file "scripts\math.lua"

    then:

    scripts/math.lua

The mesh still loads in fine though. Is anyone able to point me to a tutorial or help me get a vehicle working inside LE please? I'm finding it really confusing. B)

    Thankyou!

  2. Just for reference if anyone comes to this post wondering what I meant... I made an image showing what I discussed a few posts above about using a mesh with interior + exterior walls. It shows how using just a single sided mesh doesnt cast the shadows properly with windows, but the mesh with 3d walls and windows does. This is using a directional light.post-10-0-74042700-1321108201_thumb.png

  3. I only get light leaking through if the mesh is single sided. Or do you mean its just coming through the edges of the rooms?

If your mesh is a "full" model like the guardhouse, with interior and exterior walls, then then the light should only shine through the windows and doorways.

  4. When I can't be bothered to sort out music files for GTA, I set up a playlist in windows media player, then open up GTA IV, turn off the radio and listen to my own songs that way! Saves all the issues with DRM stuff too with purchased songs from itunes! Nice GUI. :D

  5. Hi 3Dfoin,

there should be no need for you to scale down, the leadwerks engine has the ability to scale it, just the editor dont :(

    Anyways nice model.

Ugh yeah, that scaling feature was annoying xD I believe it was something to do with Newton, and the physics bodies not scaling with the model?

  6. Wrist watches don't especially say tick tick tick, unless you put your ear right next to it.

The first tick tick tick clocks were made already in the 13th century, so it is absolutely historically correct to say in the 17th century tick tick tick:

I think Cassius means that wrist watches weren't around back then, not the noise it made.

  7. Have you finished this one, or are you still searching/recording? .. it dawned on me that I got access to a sound studio and can use it for free, while I know nothing about sound production, I have a friend who is a real boy wonder in this field, he can do recording. mastering, post-production and is also very good at composing all kinds of music, can sing and is a good speaker.. but best of all, he's a nice person (like me :P ) and can be swayed for the 'cause' with some nice words and a couple of Heinekens. If you don't need many different voices (as finding other willing (free) actors who speak English well enough might be a problem) or if you need some tweaking and clean-up on your own recordings, or some custom BG music and loops we can work something out. This offer stands to anyone interested.

Really cool! I wont be needing sound for a while :), otherwise I would have used your friend!

  8. A larger audience? The graphic quality and performance will scale. On low end machines you'll have lower end shaders (or no shaders at all), no tesselation, etc. No, the graphics will not be comparable. Nor are they meant to be.

I meant the graphics of LE3 lower spec against Blitz3d btw.
