Some simple easy ot use GUI system would be great.

Caus any game will have some GUI specially those having panels like racing car upgrade, character stats or any merchant.

So i'm just guessing if some GUI system is planned ?

That would be awesome. Since Lua does not have a visual IDE, I could see no way to create on-screen forms, buttons, etc. I cannot program in c++, so I cannot use Visual Studio for that (possibly Visual Basic, but definitely not c++) and hence, no forms, buttons, etc.

I look forward to seeing your GUI system in action. Whether you share or sell it, I am sure it will be worth it.

Let me ask, though. If I create my own buttons, sliders, knobs, etc. does LE3 have the Lua commands to go to web addresses and create links from images? If so, I can certainly see creating my own form designer.

Of course, the more I think about it, doesn't Lua already have HTML-like commands for linking to web pages or other stuff. I am sure it does.

From what i have read, GUI system will be let to people.

Soi just hope some guys here will choose some open source system and port it to Leadwerks 3, but it will remain for C++.

For Lua i don'tthink we'll have a solution ?

Some list of available GUI for C++ :

http://www.ogre3d.org/tikiwiki/tiki-index.php?page=Comparison+of+GUIs

Neosis seems great as it supports shaders, some XAML language and tools.

Nobody can't make some RPG system without GUI, even some FPS have lot of HUD for inventory , character management.

I have some difficulty to understand why GUI is left so behind other stuff in LE 3 ?

I think 3D GUI would be sweet. I did some of this for my game and it works out great as it scales without having to do any extra work with caring about screen resolution and it scales well visually I thought.

I wanted to make a game like that :

Just kidding laugh.png : impossible alone.

But well i will pray for one of you guys to bring up some easy to use GUI system to Leadwerks 3.

It's like that on indie 3D engines most of the time, some people bring existing super GUI system to the engine.Even on popular ones, Let's hope LE3 won't put a year for that ?
