Steam overlay/screenshots aren't working even after multiple 'fixes' so I'll just post a test pic here. cool.png

looks good, the problem with steam overlay is because it is using the spacewar appid, I tried changing it to the leadwerks software appid but then the steam overlay wouldn't start up, would be nice to allow the ability to upload a screen shot else where through the editor with out a render in the editor. like how SFM allows this.

Thanks for the hint gamecreator. I just found this in the docs:

Note that the Steam overlay will not work when the game is launched from Leadwerks editor, though Steam initialization will be successful.

Works when the exe is run.

I have only 480 in my steam_appid.txt and it works. And to state the obvious:

  • make sure you're already in Steam before you start your program
  • make sure Steamworks::Initialize() returns true in your program

480 is spacewar, and so screenshots are put into spacewar (which has no page or hub)

steam is always running on my computer

steamworks::Initialize() is true

and as I stated above AppId: 251810(which is leadwerks) --steam overlay doesn't even work

and yes I run it by the .exe in the folder not through the editor.

Edit: I just tested it with out leadwerks open and instead opened my game with leadwerks APPID, it does indeed tell steam that I am in Leadwerks when in my game, how ever no steam overlay.

Hmm. So you are running your project's .exe without the editor and it still doesn't work? Not sure what to do there..

Edit: Just noticed it says spacewar when I hit screenshot!

In theory the steam overlay should be available, if it is able to send steam the correct appid that i am in(which it is) being 251810, and so the steam overlay should work, unless it's a prevention on the steamworks for the Leadwerks appid to not actually use the steam overlay.
