One of the things I liked in UDK was material instances . You can make material and from it you can make as much as you wish material instances. In those instances you can expose public properties ,which you can change and make variations,you can change textures, colors, switch glow or illumination on/off from script etc. You can bind those materials to any mesh . Very powerful .
Leadwerks + material instances like that = ( AWESOME )

Of course Flexman, we have to learn every day There is great tutorials made by Zak from 3dBuzz where you can see all about how to use CSG and combine it with 3d models to get great looking level.

I have learn a lot from those Tutorials .
Also in Unreal CSG boxes are used for defining special volumes for ambient sound zones, post processing zones , Light mass etc.

Unreal Engine has CSG also. As good practice , CSG is great to make Level base , and once you made it ,we can add details, we can add meshes . It is much easier to construct levels ,to get proper sizes and make placeholders , test game play and then change it with models.Some parts of CSG level we can leave as it is, especially floors, walls etc. , combine them with other models to get great results .

Absolutely correct ! Before 10 years it was extremely difficult to inides to make any serious attempt . These days you can literally create anything you like and sell , just less quantity.

Well I don't think the millions of people buying MW3 are doing so out of an obligation to make Activisions shareholders rich, they are doing so because they genuinely enjoy the games, regardless of whether we feel they are getting real value for money!
Perhaps most of them are new kids in the block, new generations. Believe me Most of the old players don't have the same opinion. I played MW but just multiplayer .
This argument ends in one place and one place only ... not future gaming if you take the big players out.
No one has said that . And it is not true . I can't say , there is no music without Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd or somebody else ... I love them but there is some new kids and they don't care about them.
There will always be new babies , they will grow up in beautiful strong people, and they will become older and older , and some day they will die. But humanity will not die with them.
I just say. I love games. I always did . But I can't play same games all over again ,it is boring. Thanks God there are still some studios which don't care about release date .And Small studios with great new ideas.

Activision is money maker , and really is just that. There is no passion in Giant Studios any more . Skyrim is one of few which are still great. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 has almost same graphic quality as Modern Warfare 1 ,and AI as Call of Duty 1 . Not worth the money .

Excellent. Ai is a complex thing. Different behaviors are needed in different types of games. The best thing would be if we could control different conditions by the script. To write scripts for different behaviors if it is possible . Crowd system in 3dsmax has predefined behaviors and scripted behaviors . In that case everybody will be happy
Josh we need something like onUpdate() for each enemy , where we can add game-specific logic. It would be enough if we can say stop for each enemy when we want.
Then all that conditions like:
1. A clear line of site to their target exists.
2. They are within firing range (consider a crossbow or something with a high arc)
3 somebody shoot at me Look for cover
we can control alone.
