  1. I'm not keen on the new Tomb Raider girl - she's kind of ordinary-looking if you get what I mean - a bit drab. Basically, she's just not hot.

I mean, you could mistaker her for a guy:

In fact, I just realised she looks a bit like "Justin Bieber"

Keep your clothes on sweet-cheeks - keep them on.

  2. Hi, "Naughty Alien"

    This was the thread:

    http://www.blitzbasi...php?topic=92783

Basically, I had been playing Lord of the Rings Online and my session was interupted by Blitzcc trying to launch itself, etc, etc. I had a process monitor that caught it - something that was not picked up by my A/V or firewall.

Anyway, it was potentially Trojan-like behaviour that came out of nowhere, so I posted it on the forums to see if anyone had noticed anything untoward as we had had a few people trying to get trojans into the community.

Anyway, I deemed it important as (without strictly watching a process) most people would not notice this. The point being, nothing on my computer can auto-run - I make my ISP get permission to connect, other people will just have many things on auto.

I felt it was important to raise what I had witnessed and I took exception to "GfK" wading in and making it look like a joke.

I never argued my ban with BRL. However, everyone can see how the thread continued.

On a side-note, a downside to what they have done is allow people who are banned to sign-up again. In my case, I sent a message through at the point of my new sign-up (to admit it was me) and they promptly re-banned me; however, not everyone will be so honest. So, technically, even if they re-ban people, they can keep re-signing up for free at the moment.

    Have fun!

    EDIT:

Mmm, not sure if I was meant to put this here or not - only just noticed the sticky:

  4. Get with the flow "Red October" - the 3D space bit you just landed in is the one that may take you ages to get out of. The bit before that is the easy bit.

ps, when you find the cube - you have to get to more of them in the next level. I am on like level 612 at the moment - totally flying through it now.

  5. I got past the cube - now I am on to the hard stuff. I am now on some kind of snowy 3D landscape with a sun in the sky - looks reasonably good. Some Orange ball thing came after me and seemed to damage me. Not sure what happened. Not sure what I am supposed to now, so I am just going to wander about - migh climb up one of the mountains.

Anyway, this part is much better than the other bit.

    EDIT:

    Wait a minute.

There are more of the orange ball things - they move quicker than you - you die when 3 of them have hit you.

Any chance of a cheatcode for the non-orange ball things? - coz now I have to start the whole game all over - spend 100 years finding the stinking cube, then translate the stinking runes, enter the stinking phrase thing then get killed by the stinking orange balls that move quicker than me.

    A weapon would be handy.

    EDIT:

Heh, I found a quick way to avoid poncing about. I'm not saying what it is as other people will then cheat their way past the first bit.

  6. I found the cube!

    I found it!

    I'm the first.

It is sort of a worn, grey, texture and it has reinforced dark gray metal strips on its edges with rivet things - It has a sort of embossed cube on it that has some runes on it.

^ just to prove I have actually found it.

Seriously, it was such a pain in the bum to find because it is in 3D space and you can only faff about with the WASD keys, and the Z counter (assuming it is actually Z) was a chuff humper to get, whilst retaining the other two.

Seriously, a day on this and I find a lousy cube - now I have to read 200 hundred pages of text to find out how to kill this cube.

"gordonramp" - all I can say is, I am deffo NOT coming to your house for Christmas. I will stay at home and slowy grate my face off with a cheese grater.

ps. I am running 2 concurrent instances of Astralum - just in case he had it planned all along that we would all be exiting the thing to go back and read the 5000 pages of text to work out what to do next, then go back and find the stinking cube again, only to find ourselves teleported on top of a turnip with a ton of math equations to do before we can venture forth - to another test.

  7. A ton of Blitz users over the years have found Dark Basic to be untuitive for various reasons - but I won't waffle on, as I have never used DarkGDK.

  8. Is there some kind of cheat code to actually play the game without having to read/remember etc? Currently I appear to be in space with stars around me - I think, from memory, I have to go to 0.0.0. or something - but I am kind of suspicious that when I get there I'm going be inside some other puzzle.

Can you remake the exe with a cheatcode to jump to the bit where it plays like an FPS/RPG? - ie, how do we jump straight to the good stuff - wandering around over hills and valleys - shooting stuff?

  9. I noticed it in the Update notes of 16/5 and Googled it:

    - Remote management of your games library through the web or mobile device

I'm not sure why Steam are not shouting about this - as it really suits people who are at work or away from their computer when they would like to be slobbering over a new release or a game that is on short-term sale, etc.

Apparantly, it was in beta for a while, but this is the first I have heard of it.

Anyway, you can read further about it here: http://www.geek.com/articles/games/steam-gets-remote-download-management-through-web-browser-and-apps-20120516/

  10. I thought it was worth the money and looked great, but I was kind of hoping it would add more depth to the gameplay of the old Dungeon Master/Eye of the Beholder genre.

To be honest, I found it a bit hard - playing it on normal difficulty - and you can get your butt kicked at times. Don't really like the rune magic casting system.

It has had some great reviews though: http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/legend-of-grimrock/critic-reviews

It's on Steam, if anyone is interested: http://store.steampowered.com/app/207170/

A good first game for an indie developer though and the price is fair.

You may want to check it out if you haven't heard of it.

  11. It's cheaper than I thought it would be - considering all the stuff you get with it:

-One realistic head sculpt & Two pairs of glasses

-One highly articulated body & Three pairs of hands

-One black turtleneck & One pair of blue jeans

-One black leather belt & One chair (wood + metal)

-One pair of black socks & sneaker

-Two apples (One with a bite.)

-One piece of "ONE MORE THING” hard backdrop

-Retail Price : US$99.99 (Without Shipping)

Seems fishy - baring in mind they are coming from China.

Limited Quantity, First-Serving basis. Refund if sold-out.

How many are they intending to make? 50 million people may decide to buy one and find out that they are one of 49+ million that never see a refund.

If it were me selling them, I'd be tempted to run with the money.
