3.2 Unable to save/overwrite updated maps
CrazyVulcan posted a topic in Leadwerks Engine Bug Reports
Howdy, Yesterday I purchased Leadwerks form steam and this afternoon I was able to drive it for the first time. I want to say that I like the practicality of the editor though I am having trouble with finding what dose what and to see about using advanced features. That I know will come with time and experience. However the first thing I would do is create a new project I can play with, break and reassemble. I am able to make the new project fine but when I go to save the new map I will get a error message that says "Unable to overwright file filepath/Leadwerks/Project File/Test Project/Maps/Test.map" I have verified the game file in Steam and have reinstalled to no avail. This error will also appear when saving a tutorial file. So I doubt it is something Project related from my new file. Thank you for your time Gateway DX4860 WIn7 x64 Service Pack 1 Intel Core i3-2120 CPU @3.3GHz 6GB RAM NvidaGeForceGTX 550 Ti -
I purchased the indie version earlier this week, fired it up and was able run the tutorial maps and generally have a look around. Yesterday I decided to grab the sci-fi DLC and fired it up to have a look. Steam told me it was downloading a new version of the software so I waited for that to go through. Fired it up, got the splash window and it said it was downloading the DLC, the splash then went but the editor window never appeared. In the stdout the synchronise with workshop all went through ok without errors. The Leadwerks process is running and consuming a little CPU, the window manager believes there is a Leadwerks window and jumps me to it but it is currently not rendering. Decided to purge the application from my machine and download again but I got the same results. My setup is Debian Jessie (testing), latest NVidia drivers, up to date Steam, other steam items are running ok. My experience with Steam and purchases under it so far has been "just use it" so I've not had to worry about doing any problem determination so far. Is there any standard debugging/logging options I can activate to help resolve this?

I've gotten render to texture working using this code http://leadwerks.wikidot.com/wiki:render-to-texture-security-cam but the Buffer functions are nowhere to be found in the current documentation. Unless I missed it, in which case please point it out Buffer isn't even highlighted in the script editor. I wasn't sure whether to post this in Bug Reports as it's not to do with the program itself...

I've managed to get a Buffer (and Texture) filled with the current screen. I want to write it to a file, so my game will have a builtin screenshot feature. Leadwerks 2 apparently had a function SaveBuffer which would do exactly what I want, but as far as I can tell it doesn't exist or has been renamed to something else. So, before I try to manually write the bytes to a file, does anyone know if there is a current function for writing a buffer to an image file? (Or maybe there is complete function for taking a screenshot that I don't know about?) EDIT: How do I even get individual values out of a buffer?

Whenever you copy and paste things in leadwerks 3.2 it tends to offset it a bit. Not only does it offset it, but it doesn't stick to the grid. This makes it very complex to copy and paste,(expecially with CSG's). Could you change it so that when you copy and paste it locks onto the grid? Would be nice.
