It should run on a GeForce 7800, 8800, 9800 equivolent (hard to say exactly what they call them these days) all of these cards should cost around $50.00 or less

Core I5 2.67 / 16GB RAM / GTX 670

Zbrush/ Blender / Photoshop CS6 / Renoise / Genetica / Leadwerks 3

There may be more to think of than just a card. It may depend on how old the computer is too. Old machines with agp connection probably can;t easily be upgraded now. Also a more powerfull card will probably require a more powerfull power supply unit.

Don;t buy until you are sure it will be ok.

amd quad core 4 ghz / geforce 660 ti 2gb / win 10

Blender,gimp,silo2,ac3d,,audacity,Hexagon / using c++

First find out if you have PCI, AGP or PCI-Express then buy any Nvidia Geforce card that has shader 3.0 and preferably Cuda and Physx onboard (although those two are not truly necessary, but a very nice addition).

You can find this out by googling your Motherboard model number (usually printed on the Motherboard in large letters). By searching for that model, you will gain access to the specifications. Look for expansion slots or video slots.

Once you know what you need, order it off of Amazon (trust me - they have it ALL). Have someone install it for you if you are not comfortable doing it yourself, but it is pretty easy to install. Just be aware of the connector type and NEVER force anything into its slot. Make sure notches line up and ALWAYS touch metal before handling any computer components (static electricity and shocks will permanently kill your computer).

I have a GeForce 360M (laptop model) and a GeForce GTS 250 and both work swimmingly well with Leadwerks 2 and 3. Avoid ATI like the plague. There ALWAYS seems to be some kind of problem with ATI and game engines (no one flame me - this is from personal experience). Believe it or not, my low end touch-screen laptop with a core i5 and a intel video card also work very well with Leadwerks 3. Go figure.

That was certainly true during most of LE2's time, but like a couple of months before the new engine came out, AMD got their butt in gear and sorted out a lot of the problems they had. Now a top end AMD card should work just as well as a top end Nvidia card - all just personal opinion now.

You could spend $30 and have a GPU 100 times more powerful than what you have now. You were sold a non-functional machine, which IMO is the main reason for the PC's current decline.

I would buy this. Its just $75 and it will give you amazing performance in almost everything:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130753&Tpk=geforce%20280&IsVirtualParent=1

This is assuming you have a desktop PC, so you can replace the parts. If you have a laptop, you can't do that.

Yeah, that's a pretty crappy mobo. If you have anything less than the core 2 duo, throw it away. All of the other supported processors are just too low end. A raging video card may not help you. It does support up to 8GB of ram, so that's not terrible.

Well, the computer cannot be upgraded to any compatible pieces of hardware on the market because of the 9-pin setup to meet the basic system requirements of the program, so its worthless. However, I tried my other computer laptop to run Leadwerks:

,but I end up getting the error below:

Im confused about this and what Mr. said about Open Gl 2.1 earlier since it currently states that Leadwerk shoud work with:

"Windows XP, Vista, 7, or 8, with an OpenGL 2.1 compatible graphics card. ..."

http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/page/documentation/_/getting-started/

So what version of Open GL does Leadwerks currently support? I need to know for a rig im going to buy to replace the crappy window xp hardware pc with a window 7 os upgrade computer that i was scammed with by some fool in hiding in a dark cyber-cafe in the UK...dry.png

LE 3 , can't run in old hardware, specially shaders depending on how they are written and the version GPU they need will not run on it. I remember trying to play some old Lego game that used a reflective special shader on characters , the game couldn't run caus it asked a minimum SHADER GPU version.

I think this is the same problem with your hardware. You can buy hardware motherBorad, GPU , memory, CPU for i htink some 150$ or less if you chose hardware from two years ago including dual core and some 20$ GPU graphic card.

Or you can buy that from someone selling is old good working PC also for cheaper.

If you really need some engine doing lile World Of Warcraft : running in any laptop or very low PC, you will need to change 3D engine for a simpler one than Leadwerks 3, something like open source Irrlicht or others.

It would be great to have LE 3 minimum requirements somewhere.

Stop toying and make games

By your display name, I presume you live in the US? Why would you buy parts or even full machines from someone over here? If you pay $100 for anything related to a computer over in the US, we pay close to about £100 for the same thing over here in the UK. But as you know, £1 is worth more than $1 (£1 is worth about $1.50)... So our price for the same hardware is more like $150 in your prices.

In each generation of cards, they have good ones and they still sell low-end ones each time. The good ones end in high numbers, the bad ones end in low numbers. So for example, a GEForce 480 will be better than a 650, generally speaking. Look for something that ends in 80 or 90.

Some UK guy who sells "refurbished" computers at some of his stores in the US on amazon, scammed because he said window 7 OS and hardware in descrip, but only window 7 OS and xp hardware, moral-dont buy refurbished computers. Ill just use this comp for something else until I get the new rig for Leadwerks, thanks for the help guys
