4.4 beta - volumetric light is more harsh

Hello friends,

I noticed something odd in the 4.4 beta about the volumetric lights, did something changed Josh?

There is some crazy contrast going on now.
I tried mess with the volumetric light slider and anything >1 will look like this.

In the 4.3 the effect was more subtle and pleasant to look at even at >2 values

 

EDIT

I did some more tests, and spotlight with volumetric effect puts a black contrast in the scene, its like there is no transparency in the light:

In 4.3 the volumetric lighting was blurry because it was rendered on a half-size buffer and upsampled..  In 4.4 it is rendered on the full-size buffer.

I can't tell what else you are referring to in these screenshots.

My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.
