NOTE: This is not a ***** or complaint, just trying to get a broader understanding of Leadweks in general.

I see some people having problems with uploading their games and one post is two days old with no response but from a fellow 'user' of the product. I looked at Leadwerks company profile and it says: Please use the forum for technical assistance. Include as much information as possible and attach any relevant files to your post so that we can help you more quickly. Is there a "WE" or an "I" in the technical support? The only person I see posting is Josh. From what I understand and read this is all done by one person. That is great until two days have past with no response to help with the problem. Is there only ONE person at Leadwerks to help when problems occur?

What is a good target for video memory usage?
Deadlyforce replied to Deadlyforce's topic in General Discussion
OK, sounds good. Thanks -
Right now I'm sitting at 188 MB of video memory usage. The game still runs at 60 FPS on an Alienware laptop with no problem. I want to do this all on my laptop and not my gaming desktop so it's portable. I added an elevator with a lot of polygons and the memory usage jumped a lot for one thing in game. I know I can get rid of some polygons and just add an image for the control panel. My question is, what should I target the video memory usage and what should be max? I know some people have super gaming computers but what would be the norm? Thanks for the help.

Debug mode :Error: Unknown client disconnected.
Deadlyforce replied to Deadlyforce's topic in General Discussion
Well went through and did EVERYTHING the same step by step and ran it in debug mode each step. All works fine now. So it seems it must be a bug in Leadwerks. I'll just make sure I don't go very far before backing up a clean copy. -

I have everything back but a couple walls and a floor that are using the scifi interior pack materials and debug is fine. I don't get it. -
Debug mode :Error: Unknown client disconnected.

I changed everything back to max view, deleted the floor, walls and stuff. Same thing, debug crashes but game will run fine. I save the game folder on an external hard drive every few hours when game is fine with no problems. I copied the known good game in. Debug works fine. So far I have my texture in game and the stairs and debug works fine. I will keep adding what I did before and on each step debug but I didn't do much for it to act like this, just normal level making stuff. -
Debug worked fine before and game runs fine but now debug crashes with "Error: Unknown client disconnected" The only thing I changed today was make some more walls, floor, stairs and changed everything to either far or medium on view range. Before everything was set to Max on view range. I installed the latest Nvidia drivers to see if that was it but didn't help. What's going on it worked just fine before and I didn't change any coding just view range and added some stuff.

SciFi Interior Pack stairs is missing front of second step. PIC
Deadlyforce replied to Deadlyforce's topic in Game Artwork
I have it figured out. I made a cylinder, adjusted the size and placed it where it needs to be to look like the other steps. I then dragged the cylinder in the scene tab up to the stairs and dropped it there, making it a part of the stairs. Add a material to the cylinder then just save as a prefab. Thanks Josh for making Leadwerks idiot friendly -
AH yes, I now remember reading that a couple weeks ago and totally forgot, sucks getting old Thanks again! EDIT: Worked great. It's funny how easy something is when you know what to do.

No, there is no orange lines like other things. How do I add that?

Hey guys, I made some pipes but I walk through them with the exact same physics properties as door and walls that I can't walk through. Looking at the collision chart http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/page/api-reference/_/command-reference/collision-r778 I should not be walking through it. What do you think is going on here? Thanks

Keep Getting This Message From Time To Time
Deadlyforce replied to MadCat's topic in General Discussion
From what I have read from http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/topic/14207-half-fps-since-update/ It's best not to update until you know the latest tweaks are stable and working. -
That worked great, you are a life safer!! Question for you, how did you learn this? What's a "good" book should I read to learn LUA? I don't mind asking questions but don't want to be a pain in the ***. Thanks again for the help.

I could not get it to work. Kept getting a nil value error using it in the FPSPlayer.lua
-
When there are updates, where do we find the update notes? Would be nice to see how LE is improving and what is changing.

When walking, it sounds like I have 20 LB boots on. I don't see a way to lower the footsteps sound like on other sounds. Anyone know how I make the sound softer? Thanks
-
That's too bad because I really like the program. I read IClone 6 license agreement and there you "own" the work you do.
-
Decimator cost $100.00. Which is not bad as you can really control exactly how many ploygons you want and since Daz Studio is free.
-
I did a forums search and the only Daz topic was from 4 years. I downloaded Daz Studio 4.9 Pro for free and it looks real promising. Only played around with it for about two hours but exported a character into Leadwerks fine. Anyone using Daz Studio 4.9 Pro? It seems easier than Blender. Blender gives me a headache trying to do anything in it. I'm trying to figure out what program to really get into and learn without spending 100's of dollars.

Anyone else have problems getting models from Arteria3D?
Deadlyforce replied to Deadlyforce's topic in General Discussion
Well it has been three days now and three emails with no replies. Not a big deal, I'll just report it to Paypal and look elsewhere. -
I don't understand the MonsterAI.lua and AnimationManager.lua.
Deadlyforce replied to Deadlyforce's topic in Programming
OK I'm starting to understand. One thing that is odd to me is that the code is calling chase, but the animation is called Run. I changed the animation to chase at first and didn't work. Changed it to Run and it worked. Obviously I'm not a programmer but I do know that in programming you keep what you are calling the same. Thanks guys very much for the help.
