I have a dynamic 750W. This one consumes less power than a linear 350W, since it scales to what you use, and doesn't waste energy by heat like the PSU:s do when you are near to their limits.

It's similar with car engines, a 3.5L engine can consume less fuel than a 1.2L engine, because it uses it more efficiently and doesn't need so much rotations per minute.

A power supply should be the one element in your computer that you should never go cheap on. Get a least a 500 watt, name brand PSU like Corsair or Thermaltake. This will allow you room to grow or for fluctuating power needs, and getting a name brand with solid components ensures that your PSU can supply the needed power at all times, and cleanly.

500W will get hot with a GTX 480. I would get a 750W and spend less money on electricity bills and replacing overheated components. Saving in the wrong place can get very expensive.

just remember that 350 watts is been used by the motherboard, harddisk and cdrom

so if the graphic card say need 350 watts and you will need the other watts for the rest of the machine.

so you will need 450 or 500 watts psu at least

the hipper psu you have is a 350 watts model.
