It seems that this happens from time to time. Most likely you'll have to wait till Josh fixes it.

Well, it's a good idea to come up with something simple and short that gives your company a reason to exist. But if you don't actually put it into practice, it is just an empty slogan. Without revealing too much too soon, I can tell you the license will become more liberal in the future to allow mods of games made with Leadwerks, so that your own players can make stuff for your game. That decision was a direct result of saying "okay, if this is our mission this is what can be done to further that goal".
Companies that don't have some kind of overarching goal like that tend to have trouble deciding what direction to go in, and usually lack a consistent intention to their actions because each decision is made on a case-by-case basis.
Thanks for the response!
It's a lot clearer what your goal is, now.

@Tempest :
Some advice : don't make your idea on too long plan terms, see what is available right now in LE3, if it does suits your needs, than don't hesitate and buy it.
If something particulary you need just ask it.
Right now I'm using an older version of LE. I have my reasons for not upgrading.
But I ask the question because it's too vague. What posible way is there to turn gamers into developers, when most of them don't have experience in this?!?
-
Regarding, future plans, the mission of Leadwerks is to turn players into makers. Long-term future developments are centered around this idea.
Always thought of this statement more of a slogan than anything else. What exactly do you mean by that? How is it going to be done?

danieru, it's nice that you manage to resolve you problem.
the forums are here for us to help each other so don't worry if you make a mistake.

Josh, I don't understand why you're pushing steam edition so much?
If you are having trouble then I recommend ordering through Steam:
Especially at the moment that it has a problem with LE.
http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/topic/9558-game-running-with-pauses/
It looks like this might be a Steam problem that just started happening for some other applications, too:
I do not observe it continuously printing. I see it printing the same thing a lot of times, but it stops once the game starts running. Then, when the game ends it prints a lot of stuff again.
Reported to Valve here:

YouGroove just posted a bug report - http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/topic/9558-game-running-with-pauses/#entry71961 ,

It's obviously a bug, which Josh would fix quickly.

Looks like it's not an isolated thing, at least one other have reported it - http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/topic/9555-hooking-getopensavefilename/page__hl__hook

You should adress those kind of inquires to support (at) leadwerks.com
Noone in the forum can really help you with that and emailing support is the quickest way to resolve the issue.

I'm very intrested to know what is causing this.
Hopefully Josh would be able to tell us more.

If you look closer you'll see lines that are not on the mesh.
I suspect that it's a rendering bug. There was a similar thread but I cant seem to find it (it might've been deleted). If i'm not mistaken, the explanation was - problem with the graphic card. I don't know if that's true.
What graphic card do you have?
-
That's an interesting issue.
But I doubt that it has anything to do with the textures themself. As you can see those on the far right which are well lit are pretty consistent.
It's just a guess but the lines that you see are probably due to specularity.
Could you try setting it to 0 and posting the results.

Can you post a video? It's hard to imagine what you mean.
-
It sounds a lot like this -> http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/topic/9328-linux-run-mode-slower-than-debug/
Having high framerate but the getting choppy video due to skipped frames.
If it's the same thing - yes, Josh is aware of it.
-
@YouGroove, you mean offline, right.
-
Is this the tutorial http://www.leadwerks.com/werkspace/page/tutorials_legacy/_/making-a-third-person-camera-r16, you're refering to?
There's a Lua section, which should be working for the indie edition, given that the scripting language hasn't change in that regard.
You might be better off asking a specific question about the code than requesting a whole tutorial; you'll get a quicker response.
I know that it's not much of a help - sorry.
-
it's probably the way LE handles .png files.
try using a different file format.
-
This might be a stupid question but
How is this connected to Ubuntu? Isn't it a problem with the drivers / OpenGL?
-
Why would you open a new topic when there's already one for the same thing?

Lightmaps back ,Global illumination,Image based shaders ?

just proves YouGroove's point
The difference in the framerate is due to the hardware disparity.
