  1. Great examples gamecreator. I have been looking into raknet and such after browsing the forums for multiplayer and leadwerks. I do realize that it can be done with third party SDKs but was actually wondering if we'd be getting in-house multiplayer at some point and if we'll be charged for it. As for the Steam SDK, it does look like there's some sort of networking available through that as well. I'm very new to Leadwerks and only had a chance to check out the demo for a few days and I didn't have alot of time during the demo period (expired...) and I aim to start a small project before my behemoth first to get comfortable with the IDE. There are to many people wanting to buy these game engines and talk about MMORPGs etc that will never get released due to limited knowledge or the lack of a team large enough to accomplish the tasks. I'm looking to learn the editor first on a single player project and move forward from there. Eventually however, it would be nice to have multiplayer options within the editor itself.
  2. Nice Integration. I would like to purchase Leadwerks, but I had a question on multiplayer. Will there be multiplayer support eventually for this purchase or will I have to buy something again afterwords? I have a 2D prototype of a game that I would like to port to 3d but it's a multiplayer reliant game so I'm hoping that multiplayer will be coming and that I can just add it in after I get the foundation in-place. Thank you.
  3. Thank you for your input Einlander, The problem is with the actual games that leadwerks creates. I can record the main program interface without problems. There's a problem between leadwerks and playclaw. I'm convinced that it has something to do with OpenGL 4 and PlayClaw and not leadwerks directly. But posted here in case there's any chance that it's a small bug or error in the code of leadwerks. I've made a post about it on their forums now, so hopefully someone can figure out why leadwerks created games can't be recorded. Biggest problem with this that I can foresee is that if I make a game(s) with leadwerks and people want to release gameplay, review, or whatever kind of videos for it, the won't be able to...
  4. Thank you gamecreator, Worse case scenario would be it's not fixed by whoever the issue is caused by. If need be however, I can use desktop recording mode and just keep the leadworks game running in windowed mode. This works even though it's not as efficient but it works and allows me to keep the information I need on the screen.
  5. I'm not going to go back and forth with you about this, you're not leadwerks. As for taking a stab at a program that was funded through kickstarter... Well, leadwerks was to so I don't know where you're going with that... Anyway, it's a problem nonetheless. I mention it to be made aware. Just as a simple post here on the forum about a "-" causing the company link to shift down in another post... It could be something simple or something not worth their time or effort. either way I'm okay with it, but without it being mentioned, it will never be known. I personally believe it to be a problem with the way playclaw hook works, but it never hurts to check both sides just in case right?
  6. True, or it could be a bug. I mentioned it here and have submitted a demo game created with LeadWerks to the PlayClaw team. I will also make a forum post in their forum regarding it as well. Something is wrong somewhere and without knowing what the actual problem is, you can't really say who's responsibility it is. Which is why I've mentioned this to both teams to look into. I use PlayClaw because it has specific features that I need to have in my videos and PlayClaw delivers. Not only that, PlayClaw doesn't lock my game frames to 30FPS while it records. Fraps is old and outdated and is nowhere near the caliber of other screen recorders available today. The only reason why it seems so is that people grow use to certain things and never switch because "it works". Unfortunately that doesn't mean it's the best thing available for everyone. I shouldn't be forced to use or purchase an inferior program that doesn't have the features I need just to get it to "work". That would be putting the responsibility on the user. That would be like telling me to go buy unity to do X because LeadWorks version doesn't work properly or vice versa. Either way, I hope either LeadWerks or PlayClaw figure it out because I don't want to sacrifice either one of these amazing tools.
  7. Any Attempt to use playclaw game recorder (not sure about anything else as playclaw is my personal favorite at the moment) causes any demo, sample or game I've found and tried to crash. Not sure why, but it's killing me because I plan to release in-game footage in the future and this is a big problem for me... If playclaw is running the game simply will not load up without crashing. if you launch playclaw after game is loaded, playclaw in-game overlays are all tripped out and the game will crash moments later. Thank you guys.
  8. The bug is definitely recurring but random as mentioned as to what light works properly and what doesn't. Here are system specs that may help: Motherboard: Asus Maximus VI Gene CPU: Intel i7 4770K MEM: 16GB Graphics: Geforce GTX 670 2GB Edition (Driver Version 334.67 when issue was evident) OS: Windows 7 Professional 64BIT (x64) Maybe compare with the report that was submitted and maybe we can find some common ground. About the multiplayer support: Will the multiplayer be part of a free update for leadwerks 3.x or will it be something that we'll have to pay for. When it is released doesn't much matter to me, just knowing that it's coming is enough. I need to spend time learning this fine tool first in the beginning. Thank you Josh.
  9. Hi Leadwerks, I was just wondering if there will be a special promotion for the standard version when it's launched in March. I know typically there's a launch promotion price for most things on steam and was just wondering if Leadwerks will follow that trend. I will definitely be picking it up either way. From what I've seen with the demo, samples around the internet, and the C++ and LUA code inclusions, it's like a 3D game maker (Using Game Maker Master Collection for my 2D work). For 3D work, this looks like the winner in all the research and poking around the internet to find THE tool for 3D game development. Congratulations on making a killer game creation tool. I look forward to using the full version when it launches in March. Also March, we talking early, mid, late, any idea? Thank you for your assistance.
  10. Hi Josh, thank you for your quick reply. Is there plans for adding multiplayer support into leadwerks? I found a demo of 3.1 DarknessAwaits3_1, it looks like there's a problem with the shadows. if you leave the character idle it shadow stops moving. not in all instances of the light sources though and it seems to be random which one freezes when the character is idle. I see what you mean by the graphics, the lighting and shadows in the 3_1 demo are incredible. I was looking for the trial not for the graphics however, but to just check out the overall editor itself. So far it looks quite nice and simple to use.
  11. I found a trial of 3.0 to check out in the meantime however, I do have a few questions Is 3.1 standard going to be available on steam as well? Also, if we buy the indie version now will there be an upgrade option afterwards? what kind of time frame are we looking at? I'm looking forward to it. what were the changes from 3.0 to 3.1 that was worth charging people money for? normally minor version for other programs such as 3.x are included for free if you purchased 3.X... Thank you for your help, I appreciate it.
  12. Thank you gamecreator, I've already seen most of the videos from the leadwerks team. I was hoping to try it out for myself before I made a commitment to purchase it...
  13. Is there anywhere I can get the 3.0 Trial? I just wanted to check out the overall UI of the editor before I purchase it.
  14. Hi everyone, I'm interested in buying leadwerks (Steam Edition) and was wondering where the trial version of leadwerks was. I understand the steam version may not have a trial version, but I was looking through the manual and there was a link to a trial version that just brought me back to the main page. Was this trial taken away? is there another link to a working download? Any help would be greatly appreciate. Thank you.
