As I was shopping for my first gaming gpu last night, still unable to make up my mind between red and green, I got sidetracked (again)...
I stumbled on a very very cool video presentation from AMD about a tool called GPU PerfStudio.
I don't know why, but right after that I got an urge to learn about OpenGL, writing shaders, and got more interested in GPUs.
This might help the guys with the technical know-how (or those adventurous enough) to diagnose what is going on...

Similar issues here... Even some "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION" errors once in a while (on fresh blank projects).
In my case, I've nailed it down to the "Create Camera" feature in the Leadwerks Editor.
Ever since I've been manually creating the camera with code, it has been smooth sailing... (It seems to be a workaround for that pesky "Failed to load texture" error)

...or here's a link to go straight to the Game Launcher's Workshop page:

How well does Leadworks work with non Unity desktops?
in Linux
Posted
I have not done any heavy duty use of the Leadwerks editor in Linux yet. So far "it seems" to behave as expected; I can create and move things around, alter the scripts, test the levels etc... Looks promising (Ubuntu 15.10) :-D
(code blocks on the other hand is completely borked on my system though; at least on the Unity Desktop)
Just for the heck of it I installed lxde on top of the default Unity desktop environment (came with openbox window manager as a bonus)...
With the default Unity Desktop, when "debugging" the default marble game, I get about 30fps barely sustained (erratic).
Debugging the same level under lxde or openbox gives a solid 60fps on the same machine!
I think I'll keep tweaking/exploring a little bit more before I finally settle down... :-)
