The 3.4 update is now live on the default branch. The big announcements and stuff will follow next week.

Major new features include the addition of water, vehicles, and a built-in browser for the Workshop, as well as many small fixes and improvements.

The map file format has been added to, and maps saved from Leadwerks 3.4 cannot be loaded in old builds of the game engine. Therefore you must update your Lua project or recompile your C++ project. Select the File > Project Manager menu item and then press the Update button in the Project Manager interface. (Any overwritten files will get a copy made in their same folder, with the extension ".bak" added to them.) Water also requires new shaders and textures that will be added to your project by updating.

The game player launch option is removed, as Leadwerks Game Player is being made into a standalone application and was recently Greenlit for Steam:

If you do not want the update, the previous build is available on Steam. Follow the instructions for opting into the beta and select the 12-2014 branch.

News announcements and additional information will follow.

My job is to make tools you love, with the features you want, and performance you can't live without.

Does that mean every time we want to test or see our game played we have to use the standalone game player and there is no more green little play button in the editor ? Does that include the debug button as well ?

Just the workshop game player, the debug and normal testing can still be done don't worry about it

Hi Josh,

is there a detailed features list of previous build releases? I mean: As of today in Steam there are five releases (from 2014.08 to 2014.12), but I could not find a "release log" of each of them.

For example: the last stand-alone 3.2 to which of these releases is relative? In future it would be preferable that the build number appeared in the splash/about screen (imho).

Another question: The switch from beta to stable release in Steam is automatic with latest updates? How to check if the stable version is selected and/or ready to be selected? Thanks in advance for reply wink.png
